Hi there Cardinals and families. So excited to meet you for the first time or again either face-to-face or virtually.
Your children are going to love engineering as they explore innovating, creating, failing forward, and sharing designs. Please click here to see our engineering class expectations.
If you are new to Carrollton Elementary and our engineering class click here too for a warm welcome.
Please stay connected and get monthly updates by subscribing to a monthly blog post. Just click here, scroll down past my photo and words to a box that says, "subscribe". You'll be glad you did. No spam. Ever. Promise. (Just a monthly engineering update with photos of kids in action. I love to see kids problem solving and innovating.)
Check out this 3 minute mini-lesson video. https://mysteryscience.com/mini-lessons/coronavirus#slide-id-8325 Your kids will love it! It is totally relevant to our "new normal" and it answers a question that is probably swirling in their heads: Has anything like the Corona Virus ever happened before?
In the photos above, third graders helped get our hydroponic gardens up and running. This is an extension of a project started last school year by Mrs. Lenz's first graders and Mrs. Harris' third graders. Students learned sustainable ways to grow food and engineered the hydroponic gardens in engineering class. Now, students continue the process and learning.
Please remember that all Encore teachers have a page when you log in to Clever. Be sure to check them out.
I'm here for you. Please ask any questions you may have. You and your children are important.
Remember, engineering is everywhere you look.
Stay curious and ask questions.
Love,
Mrs. Hall
